The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea is Australia’s official diplomatic mission in New Caledonia. The Consul-General accredited by the French authorities to represent Australia's interests in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna and is the representative to the Pacific Community (SPC).

 

OFFICE OPERATIONS AND CONSULAR ASSISTANCE


The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea is open by appointment only. Follow us on Facebook for any further communication.

For notarial or passport appointments (check the Consular-Notarial-Passports Services - Frequently-Asked-Questions), please email us on [email protected] (provide your details and the service required) or call us during our office hours on +687 27 01 20 or 27 01 27 to book an appointment.

Consular assistance to Australians, Canadians and citizens of Nauru and Papua-New-Guinea - Please call +687 27 24 14 (outside of our office hours, follow the prompts to be connected to the 24/7 Consular Emergency Centre in Canberra, also contactable outside of our office hours, in Australia on 1300 555 135 or from overseas on +61 2 6261 3305). Canadian citizens can also alternatively contact the 24/7 Canadian Emergency Watch and Response Center in Ottawa (email: [email protected] – phone +1 613 996 8885 with call collect accepted where available). Follow the instructions of local authorities in New Caledonia and in Wallis-and-Futuna.


The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea does not manage visa-immigration, citizenship or entry-exit enquiries or applications to Australia, New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada and is unable to escalate enquiries or applications to authorities in Australia, New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada. Contact relevant authorities directly as well as your travel agent, airline, insurance or employer for assistance as required:

  • Visas, immigration, citizenship and entry-exit conditions to Australia - The Australian Department of Home Affairs manages visas, immigration, citizenship and entry-exit conditions to Australia. Home Affairs does not have an office at the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea. For assistance with Home Affairs enquiries, please check the information available at Home Affairs - Immigration (visas) Citizenship and Border Protection and contact the Home Affairs’ multilingual Global Service Centre as required. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea will not respond to Home Affairs enquiries and will not escalate these to Home Affairs.
     
  • Assistance to foreign nationals in Australia - Foreign nationals in Australia must request consular assistance directly from the consular services of their country of citizenship: French nationals in Australia should contact the French consular services in Australia, other foreign nationals should contact the consular services of their foreign diplomatic representations in Australia. The Australian Consulate-General does not provide assistance to foreign nationals in Australia and will not respond to these enquiries.
     
  • Visas, immigration, citizenship and entry-exit conditions to New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna - Authorities in New Caledonia advise travellers to contact their travel agent or airline for assistance as required (Aircalin approved flight schedule - Informations de vols et actualités utiles en temps réel (aircalin.nc)). Travellers must contact French authorities for information and assistance as required for New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea will not respond to these enquiries and will not escalate these to French authorities in Australia or relevant authorities in New Caledonia.
     
  • Visas, immigration, citizenship and entry-exit conditions to Canada - Travellers must contact Canadian immigration authorities directly for information and assistance as required for Canada. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea will not respond to these enquiries and will not escalate these to Canadian immigration authorities.
