About the Australian Consulate-General in New Caledonia
The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea is Australia’s official diplomatic mission in New Caledonia. The Consul-General is accredited by the French authorities to represent Australia's interests in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna and is the representative to the Pacific Community (SPC).
The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea works closely with the Australian Embassy in Paris, the French High Commission in New Caledonia and the Government of New Caledonia, as well as with the French State and territorial services in Wallis-and-Futuna.
The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea provides consular assistance to Australians, Canadians and citizens of Nauru and Papua New Guinea in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea provides consular, notarial and passports services.
The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea does not manage visa-immigration, citizenship or entry-exit enquiries or applications to Australia (Home Affairs), New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada and is unable to escalate enquiries or applications to authorities in Australia, New Caledonia or Wallis-and-Futuna, or Canada.
In French Polynesia, the Australian Consulate-General in Papeete is Australia’s official diplomatic representation and we work closely with the Papeete mission.

Ms Megan Bainbridge
Ms Bainbridge is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and has previously served overseas in Lebanon, including as Deputy Head of Mission, and in Afghanistan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Modern Languages from the University of Melbourne and a Master of International Relations from the Australian National University.

Assistance to Canadian Citizens
Under the Consular Sharing Agreement with Canada, the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea can provide some assistance to Canadian citizens in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna.
In French Polynesia, assistance to Canadian citizens is provided by the Australian Consulate-General in Papeete.
The Consular Sharing Agreement with Canada does not extend to assistance to foreign nationals seeking information on visas-immigration or entry-exit conditions to Canada.
