Australian Consulate-General in Noumea, New Caledonia 


The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea is Australia’s official diplomatic mission in New Caledonia. The Consul-General is also accredited to Wallis-and-Futuna and is the representative to the Pacific Community (SPC).

Outside of consular, passport and notarial services, which are provided by the Australian Consulate-General, we are unable to provide further information than is outlined below.

Assistance to Canadian citizens

Under the Consular Sharing Agreement with Canada, the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea can provide some consular assistance to Canadian citizens in New Caledonia and in Wallis-and-Futuna. Please also read the Canadian travel advice for New Caledonia.

The Consular Sharing Agreement with Canada does not extend to people seeking information on or assistance with Canadian visas, transits, immigration, biometric data collection, work, study, taxation, trade or social security. These matters are managed by Canadian Immigration and Citizenship Services which enquirers must contact directly.

Immigration, including visas and citizenship applications, and Border Protection are managed by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Home Affairs does not have an office at the Australian Consulate-General in Noumea. The Australian Consulate-General in Noumea has no visa or other Home Affairs function and does not process visa applications or respond to visa or other Home Affairs enquiries.
